Hi everyone, I just discovered a very compelling project for anyone who enjoys audio games, but is a little put off by the quality, especially of the writing. Sorry if this sort of sounds like an advertisement. Code 7 is a mainstream, mature, story- driven science-fiction text-adventure centering around artificial intelligence, hacking, character interaction and many choices and consequences, featuring full high-quality voice acting, sound effects, music and accessibility via built-in text-to-speech. When I say mainstream, I mean this is not a game specifically targeted at the visually impaired community. It’s a game in which the developers are doing their best to integrate accessibility as a curtesy. So far, the game has a demo of the first hour, and I have to say it’s really compelling so far, both in its story and gameplay. The writing and voice acting is actually really well-done, and the interface is easy to use. The text to speech is in its infancy, but it tells you all choices, what you’re typing, and any incidental, non-voiced text, such as emails found on various computers. If you like games even a little bit, I really urge you to watch the trailer, and download the demo. And if you like it even a little, please support this project, because this is a compelling game we could actually play. Below I’ve linked to the game page, which includes a nice overview, trailer and demo. Note there are two demos, one of which contains the accessibility features. Let me know what you think, and spread the word so this gets funded!

Honestly, considering how many audio game enthusiasts there are around here, I'm surprised this topic didn't get more attention. Hopefully people have taken a look and even supported the project. I know the developers are looking for suggestions about how to improve accessibility from what it currently is, so any feedback would be appreciated from them.

Just wanted to let people know that the project was successfully funded. Very exciting. They also spoke to an accessibility consultant (I'm sorry, the name escapes me right now) to see about further accessibility improvements. I'll post more about that when I learn more. Even if they don't improve anything though - and it would be really helpful if they do - the game is still more playable than most "sighted" games.
